1st Annual Crab Feed for Marayah Cares Foundations coming to Elk Grove

A new crab feed will be launched in Elk Grove. The event is organized by the Marayah Cares Foundation and will be held on Saturday, March 11.
The foundation was established by Marayah’s parents, Anthony and Nancy Ortiz. A student at Elk Grove’s Franklin High School, Marayah, succumbed to cancer after a lengthy and valiant battle.
“Please join and show support for the Marayah Cares Foundation’s 1st Annual Crab Feed.With the hope to honor the life of a vivacious, spirited, and passionate young lady, we created the Marayah Care Foundations, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation,” ANTHONY SAID. Aside from her family and friends, the biggest passions in Marayah’s life were helping others, soccer, and her love for animals. Embracing her same zest for life, Marayah Cares Foundation is dedicated to assisting many in the Elk Grove community.”
The Marayah Cares Foundation will provide athletic sponsorships to disadvantaged youth who wish to participate in a variety of competitive sports and who may otherwise not be able to afford to do so.
The crab feed will be held at Elk Grove’s SES Hall, 10427 E. Stockton Blvd. The cash bar opens at 5 p.m. Advance tickets can be purchased here.
Along with meals, the event will have raffle opportunities, music and dancing.
“Marayah also had a passion for animals,” Anthony Ortiz added. “With that in mind, we have teamed up with the Elk Grove Animal Shelter in sponsoring pet adoptions and will continue to support that effort.”
