Alleged serial sexual predator being extradited to Sacramento from NYC

A multi-jurisdictional law enforcement effort has led to the arrest of a suspected serial sexual predator.

The Sacramento County District Attorney’s office announced Kabeh Cummings, 35, was arrested in New York City. Cummings is suspected in a series of sexual assaults in the Sacramento area starting in 2010.

Cumming was taken into custody on Tuesday by the New York City Police Department and the FBI.

Cummings will be extradited to Sacramento, where he will be booked at the Sacramento County main jail. The suspect will be charged with kidnapping and carrying away; three counts of kidnapping to commit rape; one count of anal or genital penetration by foreign object by force; three counts of forcible oral copulation; two counts of forcible rape; and one count of sodomy of an unconscious victim.

Along with the NYPD, the FBI, Sacramento Police were assisted by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, and the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office.

A Tuesday, September 5 new conference will reveal more details about the apprehension and arrest of Cumming.
