The last couple weeks of American politics have been historic. First the was the shocking assignation attempt on the former president. Then President Joe Biden dropped out of the race, and paved the way for Vice President Kamala Harris to secure the Democratic nomination for president. 

Now that Harris is the presidential nominee for the Democratic Party, there is some advice from a person who was mentored by the Veep over 20 years ago that two local politicians should heed.
