Ashby, Moreno speak out on leaked ‘Roe’ decision that will diminish womens’ reproductive rights; Attending Planned Parenthood vigil

Monday’s Politico story on leaked documents showing the U. S. Supreme Court’s pending decision to overturn Rove V. Wade has set off seismic political activity that has made its way to high-profile Sacramento area races featuring women candidates. Commenting on the possible reversal of reproductive rights by the Supreme Court were Sacramento City Councilmember Angelique Ashby and Cosumnes Community Service District Director Jaclyn Moreno.
Ashby, who is running for the California State Senate District 8 seat against two fellow Democrats posted the following statement on her campaign Twitter account.

On her city council Twitter account, Ashby retweeted several posts condemning the actions such as this entry.

The other high-profile Sacramento area women candidate, Jaclyn Moreno who is running for the District 5 seat on the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors also took the opportunity to speak out against the possible ruling.    
Moreno sent an email statement and posted the following on her campaign Twitter account.

Like Ashby, Moreno said that she is attending a vigil service already in progress at the Robert Matsui Federal Building in Sacramento organized by Planned Parenthood.
The other high-profile women area candidate, Elk Grove City Councilmember Stephanie Nguyen, who is running for the California State Assembly 10th District, posted the following statement on her campaign Facebook. She did not indicate if she was attending tonight’s vigil.

Although California continues to protect women’s reproductive rights, the issue could generate additional attention during the state’s June primary and November elections including down-ballot candidates.
