California Assembly candidate Eric Guerra opens campaign office, rallies supporters in race for 10th District

With an energized group of supporters and campaign volunteers, Sacramento City Councilmember Eric Guerra held of office opening rally on Saturday, April 23 in Sacramento. Guerra is one of four Democratic and one Republican candidate running in the June 7 primary for the California Assembly 10th District seat.

Guerra’s office, shared with Sacramento County District 5 Board of Supervisor candidate Jaclyn Moreno, is housed at the Baker Union Local 85 hall in South Sacramento.

Among the over 150 in attendance were Sacramento County Supervisor Phil Serna, Sacramento City Councilmember Jay Schenirer, SMUD Director Gragg Fishman, Cosumnes Community Services Director rod Brewer, and Elk Grove Unified School District Trustee Nancy-Chaires Espinoza.

Introduced by Chaires-Espinoza, Moreno noted that Sacramento County has a $7 billion budget, and five supervisors determine priorities.

“That’s more than many states in this nation. That’s how important this race is,” Moreno said. “And it takes three votes.”

Among the supporters of Guerra and Moreno volunteering for door-to-door campaigning were members of Carpenters Local 46, SEIU Local 1021, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, California Faculty Association, Teamsters Local 150, and Sacramento Firefighters Local 522.
