Former CCSD general manager appointed Sacramento County director of general services

A new director of general services for Sacramento County was appointed at this morning's county supervisors meeting. The board appointed Joshua Green, former Cosumnes Community Services District general manager, and Elk Grove resident.

The appointment is effective July 29.

"The County of Sacramento is fortunate to have the opportunity to appoint Joshua Green as the new Director of General Services," Sylvester Fadal, Deputy County Executive for Administrative Services, said in a statement today. "Mr. Green's enthusiasm, education and expertise is expected to benefit the County's Department of General Services and the County overall."

Mr. Green will join the county from his current position as Vice President, Government and Community Affairs for Sky River Casino. Mr. Green has over 17 years of experience serving public service agencies, which included capital projects, development and implementation of fleet replacement plans, improvement, and maintenance of more than $460 million in assets, including one million square feet of facility space, real estate contract negotiation, bargaining agreements and implementation of short and long-range plans.

The CCSD initially hired Green as the parks and recreation administrator. The CCSD provides fire and emergency services in Elk Grove and Galt, as well as parks and recreational services in Elk Grove.

In addition to his professional experience, Mr. Green has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Northeastern State University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Liberal Studies: Business and Political Science from Eastern Oregon University.
