Cosumnes Community Services District will have two new directors; Sakaris apparent winner in Division 2 seat

Results released last week by Sacramento County Voters Registration and Elections show Peter Sakaris maintaining his lead over Ali Moa for the Division 2 seat on the Cosumnes Community Services District Board of Directors.

As of Tuesday, November 22, Sakaris had 5,315 votes for 51.35 percent to Moa’s 5,036 votes for 48.65 percent. Turnout in the CCSD Division 2 race was about 46 percent which is the same as the county-wide turnout and implies there are few ballots to county among the county’s 89,000 unprocessed ballots.

Should Sakarais maintain his lead, he will replace Jaclyn Moreno, who ran for the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors District 5 position.

Sakaris will join Angela Spease as the new CCSD Directors when they are sworn in next month. Spease was the only candidate who ran for Division 5 seat and won an appointment.

Division 5 was occupied by Rod Brewer, who successfully ran for the Elk Grove City Council District 2 seat. Brewer served three four-year terms on the CCSD.
