After months of anticipation, today Florida Gov. Ron “Meatball” DeSantis announced his 2024 presidential candidacy. Hoping to draw attention to his candidacy and differentiate from former President Donald Trump, “Meatball Ron” made his announcement on Twitter with Elon Musk.

It was an unmitigated disaster. Listen to the Lincoln Project’s Reed Galen and Rich Wilson described the spectacular collapse. It could have happened to a better, or in his case, worse person.
