Detours scheduled on Elk Grove’s Waterman Road reconstruction project

The next reconstruction phase along Waterman Road in Elk Grove begins this week. This week’s work will be on the Waterman Court and Brinkman Court segment and will result in the closure through September 30.

This work is part of a federally funded construction project to rehabilitate approximately 3.5 miles of city streets. The work includes:

• Widening portions of Waterman Road.
• Paving road surfaces.
• Installing bike lanes.
• Upgrading curb ramps to ADA standards.
• Installing a pedestrian flashing beacon at the Elk Grove Creek Crossing on Elk Grove Florin Road.

Project completion is expected in early 2023.
