District 2 Elk Grove City Council candidate Rod Brewer builds campaign funds, makes substantial personal loan

In what so far is a two-person race for Elk Grove City Council District 2, candidate Rod Brewer has reported a big jump in funding based mainly on a personal loan. Brewer, who serves on the Cosumnes Community Services District Board of Directors, filed his California Form 460 financial disclosure with the Elk Grove City Clerk’s office this week.

Brewer reports campaign contributions of $66,799 for six months ending June 30. Of that amount, $60,000 was a loan made by Brewer to the campaign.

While most of Brewer’s non-loan contributions were from individuals, he received support from business interests. Those contributions were $1,500 from Union Pacific Railroad and $2,500 from Super Pallet Recycling Corp. of Sacramento.

Brewer reports $59,493 cash on hand and expenses of $20,544.

Brewer and fellow Democrat Felipe Martin are competing for the seat being vacated by four-term Councilmember Pat Hume, who is running for the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors.
