Donor class continues funneling cash into District 4 Elk Grove City Council candidate’s campaign
In the contest to replace outgoing Elk Grove City Council District 2 Councilmember Stephanie Nguyen, the donor class that has funded other council members continues to funnel money into one of the two candidates in the race.
According to the Elk Grove City Clerk’s filings, Elk Grove Planning Commissioner Sergio Robles remains the established-donor class candidate of preference. Yesterday Robles reported four contributions totaling $7,900.
The donors who are familiar players in Elk Grove politics include:
- Committee for Home Ownership of Northstate Building Industry Assoc. $4,900
- Angelo G. Tsakopoulus – $1,000
- Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 104 – $1,000
- Thatch & Hooper – $1,000
Robles, who first sought the District 2 seat but who established new residency in District 4 earlier this year, is facing Giezi Bermudez, who entered the race on the last day of eligibility in early August. Nguyen has endorsed both candidates, although Bermudez is a top executive at Asian Resources Inc., where Nguyen is the executive director.
