A prolific Sacramento tagger was sentenced last week and ordered to pay restitution.

Sacramento County Superior Court Judge Alexander Pat sentenced Scott Smith to one year in county jail, one year probation and ordered to pay $50,102 in restitution. Smith pleaded no contest to two charges of felony vandalism.

Smith repeatedly tagged buildings with graffiti, one of which caused $36,000 in damages. As part of his probation, Smith must he not possess any instrumentalities associated with tagging; that he does not associate with any known taggers; that he abides by a curfew between 11:30 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.; and that he stays 300 yards away from the locations where he tagged.
