Early morning auto fatality under investigation by Elk Grove Police

Elk Grove Police are investigating an early Monday morning single-vehicle fatality.

According to the information provided, the 19-year-old driver was killed in a collision on Bilby Road near Willard Parkway. At approximately 12:44 a.m., the driver, and sole occupant, of a white Honda Accord was driving westbound on Bilby Road at a high rate of speed when the vehicle stuck the curb and then hit a tree.

The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene, and identification will be made by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office. Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to call the Elk Grove Police Department Traffic Bureau at (916) 478-8148.a
