EGUSD's 'Yes on N' receives more substantial construction-related donations
Although the Sacramento Taxpayers Assocation opposes the measure, they have not funded a counter-campaign.
Organizers of The Elk Grove Unified School District's Yes on Measure N ballot proposal continue receiving large donations from constructions-related interests.
Information posted on the Sacramento County Voter Registration show in the last week, the Yes campaign has received $38,500 from the following companies:
- CORE West, Inc. Las Vegas, NV 89128 - $10,000
- Griffin-Swinerton, LLC Concord, CA 94520 - $3,500
- Lionakis Sacramento, CA 95818 - $5,000
- HMC Architects Ontario, CA 91764 - $10,000
- Roebbelen Contracting, Inc. El Dorado Hills, CA 95762 - $10,000
Previous to these recent contributions, the Yes campaign raised $179,075, primarily from construction-related businesses. The campaign has over $200,000 for promotion of the bond measure and although the Sacramento Taxpayers Assocation opposes the measure, they have not funded a counter-campaign.
If 55 percent of Elk Grove Unified District voters approve Proposition N, the district would issue $542 million in bonds payable over 30 years. The anticipated cost to property owners is $34 per $100,000 of assessed value.
If approved, the measure would be used for facility remodeling and construction.
