Elk Grove City Council Meeting – February 24, 2024

On Wednesday, February 28, 2024,the Elk Grove City Council held its fourth regular meeting of the year.

Of significance, Councilmember Sergio Robles was absent. During public comment, Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen heard from people praising and condemning the city’s $9.1 million lawsuit settlement with Long Beach, Calif.-based Excelerate Housing. The city agreed to the mutli-million dollar taxpayer funded settlement after the city was sued for their July 2022 denial of an affordable housing project.

Mayor Singh-Allen also nominated a new member to the city’s diversity commission. The city council agenda can be viewed here.
