Elk Grove Police Department releases body cam video of most recent officer-involved shooting

There were two officer-involved shootings with Elk Grove PD in February

In compliance with state law, the Elk Grove Police Department has released body camera videos of officers involved in a shooting.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. The shooting happened at the Holiday Inn Express on East Stockton and Laguna boulevards.

The person shot was wounded in the head and leg and succumbed to the injuries at an area hospital. The video provides a timeline and the police department’s version of the events.

The video notes the investigation by the Elk Grove Police and Sacramento County District Attorney is ongoing.

The February 21 incident was the second officer-involved shooting with the Elk Grove Police Department. The other incident happened on February 1.
