Elk Grove Public Works clears hazards, advises damage repairs to fixtures may take time


The City of Elk Grove Public Works Department has released information related to the recent storms.
According to the information, work crews responded to 163 calls Saturday evening through Monday morning. The pie chart provided by Elk Grove shows the breakdown of the calls handled.

Trees – 46%

Drainage – 19%

Electrical (streetlights or traffic signals)– 14%

Traffic Signs – 5.5%

Other – 15.5%


The city issued a statement saying:

Staff is still assessing and identifying additional issues. The full cleanup will take some time, but all reported hazards have been made safe. Full cleanup and repairs will happen over the next couple of weeks but repairs to down streetlights or damaged fixtures may take longer due to long lead time in material sourcing.


Although SMUD is reporting many outages in its service area, power has been mostly reported in Elk Grove. Currently, there are only 112 customers in the city without electricity.
Elk Grove City Hall has experienced intermittent internet interruptions from its service provider, Frontier Communications. Service interruption reports from Frontier are not readily available
