A Fairfield resident who came to Sacramento to victimize Asian females was sentenced after being convicted of grand theft and hate crimes.

On August 8, 2023, Latravion McCockran, 21, pled to three counts of robbery as strike offenses, one count of grand theft person, two arming enhancements, and four hate crime allegations. Today Judge Carlton Davis sentenced McCockran to eight years in state prison and ordered to pay restitution to the four victims.

On numerous occasions in April and May 2022 McCockran and a juvenile traveled to south Sacramento to rob Asian females. McCrockran and his accomplice targeted victims as they left near stores on Stockton Blvd and 65th Street.

In each of these incidents, McCockran was the driver, while the accomplice would confront the victims with a firearm, which was never recovered, and take purses, cell phones, cash, and other valuables. During one incident McCockran followed the victim to her home and robbed her of her cell phone inside her garage.

Sacramento Police Department detective found communications between McCockran and the juvenile indicating they were targeting Asian female victims due to racial bias.
