Fatal motorcycle, car collision under investigation by Elk Grove Police
The Elk Grove Police are investigating a collision involving a motorcycle and car that resulted in one fatality.
According to police reports, at approximately 5:36 p.m. on Friday, October 13, officers responded to Elk Grove Florin Road, between West Camden Drive and Sheldon Road, regarding a two-vehicle collision. Police said the motorcyclist was driving at a high rate of speed northbound on Elk Grove Florin Road when it collided with a white Nissan that made a turning movement from southbound Elk Grove Florin Road.
The motorist, the sole occupant of the Nissan, was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The motorcyclist, a 40-year-old male, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The collision is under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to call the Elk Grove Police Department Traffic Bureau at (916) 478-8148. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will make identification of the deceased.
