Felipe Martin kicks off Elk Grove City Council District 2 campaign with two council members’ endorsements
One of the three candidates seeking to replace Pat Hume as Elk Grove’s District 2 City Council representative had a campaign kick-off event on Saturday, September 17.
According to a press release, the event held at Felipe Martin’s Elk Grove residence drew over 100 supporters. Martin, Michelle Kile, and Cosumnes Community Services District Director Rod Brewer are competing for the seat Hume will have occupied for 16 years when he leaves office later this year.
Elected officials supporting Martin are California Assemblymember and Sacramento County Sheriff-elect Jim Cooper and Elk Grove City Councilmembers, Darren Suen and Stephanie Nguyen. Elk Grove Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen supports Brewer.
During his presentation, Martin is said to have “highlighted his ambitious agenda to make Elk Grove not just a great place to live, but also a great place to work.”
In support of his candidacy, Nguyen noted their similarities as first generations of Americans and that “we share many of the same experiences and same beliefs that are core to our community – hard work, family values, and community.”
Along with Nguyen and Suen, Martin has been endorsed by Cosumnes Community Services District Board Member Jim Luttrell. In addition, three organizations support Martin – Sacramento Association of Realtors, Operating Engineers Local 3, and Laborers Local 185.
