Holliday has overwhelming lead in race for Sacramento Superior Court judge vacancy

In the race for a judicial vacancy on the Sacramento Superior Court, one candidate established an overwhelming lead that should ensure victory when all votes are counted.

Assistant Chief Deputy Sacramento County District Attorney Amy Holliday has 60 percent or 61,308 votes for first place. Her opponents, administrative law judge Noel Calvillo has 22,277 for 21 percent and family law attorney Bobby Luna has 17,836 votes for 17 percent.

The vote tallies were updated last evening, and the next update is at 4:15 p.m. today. Countywide, 118,205 ballots have been processed.

Even though 13 percent of ballots have been processed, Holliday’s lead is overwhelming and will win the seat on the Sacramento Superior Court.
