Insomnia Cookies announces expansion plans into Canada, U.K.

Krispy Kreme-owned company expands to Canada, U.K.

Known for serving warm cookies throughout the day, Insomnia Cookies announced plans to expand its operations in 2023 to Canada and the U.K. The international growth stands on top of about a dozen stores expected to open in the U.S. this year.

“From a college start-up, we’ve come a long way over the last 20 years, and this year’s national and international new stores openings are just a taste of what’s to come for Insomnia Cookies,” Seth Berkowitz, Founder, and CEO of Insomnia Cookies said. “Insomnia is so grateful to our loyal Insomniacs, whose passion for our brand has fueled our growth.”

Along with warm cookies, the stores offer a variety of treats like ice cream. Additionally, Insomnia Cookies offers a full vegan cookie product line.

The company will open stores in Machester, U.K., and the greater Toronto metropolitan area. Founded in 2003, Philadelpia-based Insomnia Cookies is a subsidiary of Krispy Kreme.

Currently, the company operates 230 stores but has not yet entered the California market.
