Elk Grove Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen flip-flops, rejoins regional homelessness committee
Quit a regional homelessness committee last May.
At the end of the Elk Grove City Council's last meeting of 2024 on December 11, Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen slipped in a comment that was a flip-flop from an earlier decision.
During the hearing on city council members' assignments to other regional committees, Singh-Allen said she wanted to rejoin the Sacramento Homeless Policy Council (see video below).
Singh-Allen quit the committee earlier this year. During the May 22 city council meeting, Singh-Allen said her busy schedule could not accommodate the meeting.
A presentation by Elk Grove City Clerk Jason Lindgren at that May 22 noted the meetings were held about four times annually, typically on Fridays, and were conducted via Zoom teleconferences.
Singh-Allen tried to pawn off the duty to councilmembers Rod Brewer and Darren Suen. However, both hesitated to commit, and Councilmember Sergio Robles agreed to replace the mayor.
