Is Suen headed to a California Assembly job?

During the Wednesday, June 28 Elk Grove City Council meeting, Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen made a comment regarding a career change from one of her city council colleagues.

During a hearing on an affordable housing project, Singh-Allen addressed City Councilmember Darren Suen as Assemblymember Suen. After incorrectly titling him, Singh-Allen then said he was going to work at the California Assembly.

Suen, who is employed with the California Department of Water Resources, did not elaborate on any career change. The state’s fiscal year 2024 starts this Saturday.

According to information prepared by the school district, if voters approve the bond, parcels will be assessed at $34 per $100,000 of value.
