Elk Grove zoning administrator told Mayor Singh-Allen, city council biased against certain neighborhoods
Ms. Liz Marshall did not hold back on her criticism of Elk Grove Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen and her handling of the affordable housing project.
For almost two years, the city of Elk Grove has been embroiled in a controversy over the denial of a supportive housing project. The July 2022 denial of the Old Town Elk Grove Oak Rose housing project generated a fair housing lawsuit against the city by California Attorney General Rob Bonta.
Although the matter is still pending, as part of a possible settlement, the city paid Oak Rose developer Excelerate Housing over $10 million to move their project from Old Town Elk Grove to northern Elk Grove.
Neighbors in the new location are displeased, and one person in very strong terms expressed that during the June 17 Elk Grove Zoning Administrator meeting. One of three speakers during the meeting was Ms. Liz Marshall, who did not hold back on her criticism of Elk Grove Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen and her handling of the affordable housing project.
