During city council meeting Elk Grove Mayor Singh-Allen implies support for Palestinians, Muslims caught in Gaza-Israel war
During a presentation at the May 22, 2024 Elk Grove City Council meeting recognizing May 2024 as Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Mayor Singh-Allen's response to an honoree's comments implied her support for Palestinians caught in the Gaza-Israel war.
Singh-Allen responded to comments from Ms. Khydeeja Alam, executive director of the California Commission on Asian and Pacific Islander American Affairs (CAPIAA). Ms. Alam said Elk Grove "is home to many who have lost loved ones in Gaza and Palestine" and asked the mayor and city council if "they have showed up in solidarity?"

Last night wasn't the first time Singh-Allen has waded into the conflict. If February, Singh-Allen posted this on X.
Today 104 killed in Gaza as they lined up for food. 30,000 have died already- half children. Over 200 were friends and relatives of our closest friends- the Shehadeh family. They aren't Hamas. They are innocent Palestinians.
