Michelle Kile starts door-to-door campaigning in Elk Grove City Council District 2
Even though she has not had the visibility of her competitors, today we received reports that Elk Grove District 2 City Council candidate Michelle Kile was working door-to-door in the district.
Kile is facing Rod Brewer and Felipe Martin. Pat Hume has occupied the District 2 seat since 2006, but with his bid for the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors District 5 seat, he has created the opening that has attracted three candidates.
Unlike most city council candidates who avoid using partisan labels in non-partisan races, Kile has included her endorsement by the Republican Party of Sacramento County.
In 2020, Kile was the first candidate to enter the race against former Elk Grove Mayor Steve Ly. However, after the entry of Brian Pastor and Bobbie Singh-Allen, Kile dropped out of the race.
The flyer titled “Send a MOM to City Hall!” notes she supports public safety and lowering taxes and fees to benefit “mom and pop” small businesses.
“As your next Councilmember, I will work to make Elk Grove the best place to live, work and raise a family,” Kile said on the campaign piece she was distributing.
Although Brewer and Martin have substantially more campaign funding, as the sole Republican in Elk Grove’s more conservative and Republican-leaning District 2, her party endorsement could secure a significant number of votes.
Kile and Brewer have agreed to participate in an Elk Grove News Podcast interview. Martin has not responded to an invitation.
