Modesto meth dealer sentenced to 12 years for drug trafficking, illegal firearms possession
Joshua David Harrington, 36, of Modesto, was sentenced yesterday in Federal Court in Fresno to 12 years and seven months in prison for possessing with intent to distribute methamphetamine and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
According to court documents, on April 2, 2021, Harrington discarded a backpack with two firearms while fleeing from law enforcement officers. Harrington is prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition because he has been convicted of multiple felonies in Stanislaus County, including possession of a controlled substance and two convictions for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Officers also located methamphetamine possessed by Harrington for distribution in the garage at his residence. On Aug. 14, 2021, Harrington possessed methamphetamine with the intent to distribute it in Modesto.
Harrington was first indicted in January, 2022.
