Moreno, Hume enter general election for Sacramento County Board of Supervisors with depleted cash
In a sign of the race’s competitiveness for the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors District 5 position, the two final candidates seeking to replace long-serving Supervisor Don Nottoli are left with depleted campaign funds following the June Primary.
Republican Elk Grove City Councilmember Pat Hume and Democrat Cosumnes Community Services District Director Jaclyn Moreno are headed to the November elections after former Elk Grove Mayor Steve Ly was eliminated. Hume came in first place with 42 percent, and Moreno had 32.
According to his financial disclosure filed with the Sacramento County Voters Registration and Elections for the six weeks ending June 30, Hume had $9,501 on hand and debts of $11,570. Moreno reports $21,637 on hand for the same period and debts of $5,726.
For the six months ending June 30, Hume received contributions of $293,193 on top of the $40,930 he had at the start of 2022. During the period, Hume recorded expenses of $308,050.
For the same six-month period, Moreno received $122,739 on top of her $13,680. Moreno’s campaign spent $159,090 in the six months.
As reported, a committee called Sacrmaentans for Hume for Supervisor 2022 formed this week, although there is no funding report. While Moreno lagged Hume in contributions, a committee called Working Families for Jaclyn Moreno for Sacramento County Supervisor provided substantial support during the primary.
That committee reports cash on hand of $10,113 after spending S249,792 for Moreno for six months ending June 30. Various labor unions fund the committee.
Since July 1, Moreno has reported a donation of $1,000 from Senator Dr. Richard Pan, and Hume has not disclosed any new contributions.
Ly reports a cash balance of $25,025 and debts of $5,840 as of June 30.
