Nguyen continues to hold lead for District 10 California Assembly race as Guerra gains with today’s tallies
Vote tallies released this afternoon by the Sacramento County Voters Registration and Elections show the primary race tightening for District 10 California Assembly open seat. Elk Grove City Councilmember Stephanie Nguyen continues to hold first place, albeit with a narrower margin.
Today’s tallies show Democrat Nguyen with 18,083 votes for 31.11-percent of the total. The previous counts showed Nguyen with 32.7-percent of the votes.
Gaining on Nguyen is Sacramento City Councilmember Eric Guerra, who has 28.5-percent with 16,566 votes. Friday’s total had Democrat Guerra with 13,445 votes for 28.2-percent.
Holding third place is Republican Eric Guerra, whose vote percentage has grown from 26.24-percent on Friday to 27.26-percent for an almost entire point gain. Even though only 724 votes separate Guerra and Rigard for second place, the first totals released last week showed only 50 votes between the two.
The fourth-place candidate Democrat Rev. Tecoy Porter, also gained with today’s tallies. Porter now has 8.02-percent for 4,664 votes, up from 7.45-percent on Friday.
The top two finishers will advance to the November general election. The next vote tallies will be released on Friday, June 17.
