Nguyen mailer targets Asian voters – She ‘Fights for Us’ in Assembly District 10 race
This week, a mailer sent on behalf of Elk Grove City Councilmember, and California Assembly District 10 candidate Stephanie Nguyen targeted a specific group – Asian-American voters.
The mailer, which is addressed to voters with Asian surnames, shows Nguyen speaking during an April 2021 rally in Elk Grove condemning anti-Asian hate crimes (see video below). The headline says, “with our community under attack…Stephanie Nguyen leads the fight against AAPI hate.”
The piece also features Nguyen with Elk Grove City Councilmember Darren Suen, State Senator Dr. Richard Pan, and Assemblymember and Sacramento County Sheriff-elect Jim Cooper.
The CA Correctional Peace Officers Association, American Beverage Association, and Doordash, Inc. funded the mailer through the Asian Pacific Island Leadership Political Action Committee.
Nguyen is facing fellow Democrat, Sacramento City Councilmember Eric Guerra. As the election cycle winds down, the race is becoming increasingly acrimonious.
