Northern California, Elk Grove soaked with heavy rains to end the year; River Flood Warning in effect
As the clock clicks down on the final hours of 2022, Northern California and much of the west coast are getting soaked with heavy rains.
In many Elk Grove neighborhoods, particularly the city’s rural Sheldon area, some houses, and other dwellings are threatened with localized flooding. This video was recorded between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2022.
The City of Elk Grove has established a self-serve sandbag distribution point for property owners under the threat of flooding. Information about the distribution can be viewed here.
The rains are expected to continue throughout today but will stop for New Year’s day. However, more rain is expected starting on Monday, January 2.
A River Flood Warning for the Cosumnes River is in effect from the National Weather Service in Sacramento.
