On Thursday’s Big Day of Giving consider a donation to Sacramento Splash

This Thursday, May 4, is the semi-annual Big Day of Giving. Among the many worthy organizations that rely on donor support is Sacramento Splash.
With a simple statement mission that says, “Helping children understand and value our natural world,” Sacramento Splash is committed to helping introduce students to the wonders of our environment. Among their programs, students have hands-on opportunities to learn about habitats unique to the Sacramento area, such as our abundant vernal pools.
“Big Day of Giving donations have allowed Splash to increase our programming by nearly 300 percent since 2019 pre-COVID numbers,” Splash executive director Mackenize Wieser said. “With the community support, Splash has increased the impact to teachers and students by reaching an additional 13,000. We now bring over 17,500 students into nature each year, and we want to keep growing.”
Like many non-profits, individual donations on the Big Day of Giving make up a large portion of their annual budget.
