As one of three outgoing Elk Grove Unified School District trustees, Tony Perez offered a lengthy commentary during the December 10 meeting.

During a special December 10, 2024, meeting of the Elk Grove Unified School District Board of Trustees, three outgoing board members offered commentary on their respective tenures.

Speaking in order, those trustees were Nancy Chaires-Espinoza, Carime Forcina, and Tony Perez. The December 10 meeting was their last session.

Ms. Chaires Espinoza, who did not seek another four-year term, has represented Area 6 since her appointment in 2015. She is succeeded by Jennifer Ballerini, who won the position in a two-candidate race this November.

Mr. Forcina represented Area 7 for three terms starting in 2012. He lost his bid for a fourth term in a three-candidate race, which Heidi Moore won.

Like Forcina, Mr. Perez won his seat representing Area 1 in 2012. In a two-candidate race, he lost his bid for a fourth term to new trustee Susan Davis.

Ballerini, Davis, and Moore were sworn in during last night's regular trustee meeting. They will all serve four-year terms.
