Prolific Downtown Sacramento tagger sentenced to 12 months in county jail

A prolific downtown Sacramento tagger was sentenced yesterday in Sacramento Superior Court.

Scott Howard Smith pled guilty to two counts of felony vandalism. Smith, who targeted downtown Sacramento structures, caused damages estimated at $36,000 to two buildings.

Along with one year in the county jail, smith has two years of formal probation with conditions that he not possess any instrumentalities associated with tagging; that he does not associate with any known taggers; that he abide by a curfew between 11:30 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.; and that he stay 300 yards away from the locations where he tagged.
