Voices of Elk Grove – Business owner says ‘Queer people not safe enough in Elk Grove’

Responding to what one Elk Grove business owner said is hostility directed at the LGBTQ+ community in Elk Grove, Elk Grove Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen and the city council were told, “Queer people are not safe enough in Elk Grove.”
The comments came from Ms. Emily Autenrieth, the co-owner of a popular gathering space from Elk Grove’s LGBTQ+ community. Autenrieth was reacting to comments made during the Wednesday, July 26, 2023, Elk Grove City Council meeting.
