Before another candidate entered the race late last week, Elk Grove City Council District 4 candidate Sergio Robles secured two prominent endorsements from elected officials representing Elk Grove. Robles made the announcements on his campaign Facebook page.

Those endorsements came from California State Assemblymember and Sacramento County Sheriff-elect Jim Cooper, and Sacramento County District Supervisor Don Nottoli. Robles, Cooper, and Nottoli are Democrats.

In his endorsement, Cooper lauded Robles, who is an Elk Grove Planning Commissioner, for his service to the community. Nottoli’s announcement was made without comment from the long-serving County Supervisor.

Along with Cooper and Nottoli, Robles has been endorsed by Elk Grove Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen, Vice Mayor Darren Suen, and Elk Grove City Councilmember Stephanie Nguyen. Nobles is a field representative for U.S. Rep. Ami Bera.

Robles is one of two candidates seeking the seat being vacated by Nguyen, who is running against fellow Democrat, Sacramento City Councilmember Eric Guerra for California’s open District 10 California Assembly seat. Though not officially verified, Robles is being challenged by Geize Bermudez, a co-worker of Nguyen.
