Rod Brewer, Sergio Robles take oath of office for Elk Grove City Council
After the certification of election results and before a standing-room-only audience, Elk Grove City Council’s two newly elected city council members took their oath of office this evening during the regular city council meeting.
Taking their oath of office for four-year terms were District 2 representative Rod Brewer and Sergio Robles for District 4. Also taking their oath of office was Elk Grove Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen, who won her second two-year term.
Brewer won his seat in a three-candidate race. Before his election to the city council, Brewer was an elected Director on the Cosumnes Community Services District Board and had served for the last 12 years.
Robles, who won his seat in a two-candidate race, was an Elk Grove Planning Commissioner appointed in 2020 by former Elk Grove Mayor Steve Ly.
The District 2 seat was held by Pat Hume, who was elected this year to the District 5 seat of the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors. Hume served for 16 years on the city council, which is the longest of any council member in the city’s 22-year history.
Nguyen has served on the city council since her 2017 appointment and was elected to a four-year term in 2018. This year, Nguyen successfully ran for the California Assembly District 10 seat.
