Sacramento man who is a repeat child sex offender sentenced to 11 years for possession of child pornography while on probation
Was convicted in 2006 & 1995
A Sacramento man who had been on probation for earlier possession of child pornography was sentenced yesterday in U.S. District Court in Sacramento.
Joshua Klomp, 48, was sentenced today to 11 years and two months in prison for possession of child pornography following a prior sex offense conviction and while on supervised release for a prior child pornography conviction.
During a 2018 probation visit, Klomp was found to be in possession of two cellphones that contained thousands of images and video files of children engaging in sexually explicit conduct, of which more than 900 were identified by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as originating from known child pornography series. Investigators learned Klomp’s devices contained nearly 3,000 internet history files associated with searches for young males engaged in sex acts.
At the time he possessed these images and video files, Klomp was on federal supervised release for a 2006 conviction for possession of child pornography. Klomp served 10 years in prison for that offense, and prior to that federal conviction, Klomp had been convicted in Butte County in 1995 of committing a lewd and lascivious act with a child.
This case was the product of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
