Senior deputy leaves Elk Grove city attorney's office after only 7 months

A senior deputy in the city of Elk Grove's city attorney's office has departed after only seven months of service.

The city of Elk Grove has posted a job opening for a senior deputy attorney. A review of the statements of economic interest shows that Emilio Camacho left his position as senior deputy city attorney effective May 31.

According to this statement of economic interest filed upon assuming office, Mr. Camacho was hired by Elk Grove city attorney Jonathan Hobbs and started his employment on October 18, 2023. The city of Elk Grove does not disclose reasons for employment separation. 

Hobbs formally introduced Camacho to Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen and her city councilmen during their  January 24 meeting (see video below) in glowing terms. Before joining Hobbs' staff, Camacho was employed by the city of Sacramento for nine years."

We are very excited to have him in our office," Hobbs told the mayor and her city council during that meeting.
