Still time to enjoy the fall colors of the Eastern Sierra
If you are looking to enjoy some wonderful fall colors, consider visiting California’s Eastern Sierra region.
Fall colors started peaking about a week ago and are continuing for the next week or so. The video below contains many images of the colors that can be seen in the canyon roads running off of U.S. Highway 395 between Lee Vining and Bishop, Calif.
Here is a guide to the current color conditions for those visiting the Bishop area. This guide shows current conditions in the area.
If you have the time and are traveling from the Sacramento region, drive to Gardnerville, NV, and spend the night there before heading south for the color tour. When in Gardnerville, do yourself a favor and have dinner or lunch at J.T. Basque Restaurant – you will not be disappointed.
After spending the night there, travel south on U.S. 395 and enjoy the beautiful colors in the canyon road along the way.
