Strauss Festival returns to Elk Grove
After a two-year absence, Elk Grove’s Strauss Festival will return for its annual summertime performance next week.
Arguably Elk Grove’s premier cultural event, like many events and activities, the show was dark for two years following the COVID-19 pandemic. This year’s performances start on July 28 through the 31st.
This year’s theme is a retelling of Alice in Wonderland titled “Waltzing in Wonderland.” Like previous years, the performance will take place on Strauss Island at the Elk Grove Regional Park.
Elk Grove’s Strauss Festival was founded in 1987 by the late Iris Zimbelman and her husband, Arnie Zimbelman. Since its modest beginnings, the festival has become a major regional summertime event.
The performance starts at 7:30 p.m. each day with a prelude concert followed by the show at 8:15. Admission is free, but there is a $10 parking fee.
More information is available on the Strauss Festival website.
