Three suggestions for Elk Grove Water District's 'The Water Drop' newsletter

Like many government agencies, the Elk Grove Water District distributes a newsletter called "The Water Drop" via the United States Postal Service. After reviewing the newsletter, there are three suggestions for improving communications.

Communication with ratepayers is essential. However, after receiving "The Water Drop" in the mail on Friday, August 23, we hope the district considers three modifications.

First, the newsletter lists the next four EGWD board meetings. Unfortunately, the mailer arrived after the August 20 board meeting had already passed (see image above).

Speaking of timing, the flyer contains information relevant to summer water use. Given the mailer arrived two-thirds of the way through peak summertime heat and water use, wouldn't this information be more meaningful a few months earlier?

Finally, the front cover contains a lengthy letter from the district's general manager. The general manager's signature is not legible at the end of the letter.

What is the general manager's name? It would be helpful to have the printed name below the signature.

With these three suggestions, the water district can more effectively communicate with ratepayers.
