Traffic advisory for Elk Grove High School homecoming parade

School spirit and tradition will be on display as Elk Grove High School hosts its annual Homecoming Parade this Friday, October 6. To accommodate the event, road closures and alternative routes will be in effect from 12:45 to 3:00 pm on several roads. Motorists can expect traffic delays and are encouraged to plan accordingly.
Street Closures for Friday, October 6:
- Valley Oak Drive at Elk Grove High School to Vista Grande Way
- Elk Grove-Florin Rd in both directions at Elk Grove High School to Elk Grove Blvd.
- Elk Grove Boulevard in both directions from Elk Grove Florin Road to Williamson Drive
- Melrose Avenue
- Southside Drive
Elk Grove Police Department will be on hand to assist with traffic controls and detours during the event.
Held since 1964, the EGHS homecoming parade is a time-honored tradition that recognizes its students and showcases their school spirit to the community. An estimated 1,000 students and 500 spectators are expected to participate. For more information, call (916) 686-7741.
