Rally Failures; Trump does[n't] again! Donald's 2024 Magical Grievance Tour rolls on
This week's announcement by Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris of her running mate Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota has generated considerable excitement and attention. Since Tuesday's announcement by Harris, the two candidates have conducted a barnstorm tour that included well-attended rallies in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan and Arizona.


The rallies have drawn standing room only audience in these four swing states. The energy of their Democratic audiences at these rallies has been palatable.

Meanwhile her opponent, Donald Trump held a news conference and one rally in the deep red state of Montana. That Friday night rally was not as well attended as you can see from this video.



Maybe the audience was thin because of a mechanical failure of Trump's 32 year old personal 757 that had to make an enroute emergency stop. Fortunately the plane landed safely, but the rally was delayed. 

But there were some other curious activities during the opening of the Montana rally. This social media post showed the theme from the movie Titanic being played for the audience - does this foretell things for the Trump campaign?

Undoubtedly Harris-Walz is experiencing the energy Trump enjoyed in 2016. Are Trump's audiences tiring of the same old worn out message? 

Of course his act was already wearing thin four years ago. Recall the June 2020 Tulsa rally where so many people were expected an outdoor overflow area was set up.

Thanks to the shenanigans of tens of thousand of young TikTok users, the auditorium was half empty. The Lincoln Project perfectly captured that rally failure with their video.

So as the Trump-Vance 2024 Magical Grievance Tour continues, can we expect more of these rally failures? More importantly, are these repeated rally failures a sign of things to come?
