Whoops! Elk Grove omits listing Old Town Plaza Hanukkah event from weekly calendar

The City of Elk Grove has done a respectable job of listing cultural and religious-focused events. But it appears to have dropped the ball with respect to a new community event.

Yesterday a Hanukkah event was held at Elk Grove’s Old Town Plaza. The event was held on the first day of the eight-day celebration.

Attending the event on behalf of the city were Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen and two of her council members, Rod Brewer and Sergio Robles.

This was the first year for the event at the Old Town Plaza and was sponsored by Chabad of Elk Grove. On their website, the group extended a community-wide invitation saying it was “Elk Grove’s first ever Chanukkah event.”

As a note to Elk Grove, next year’s Hanukkah celebration starts on Thursday, December 7.

See the video below for the list of events included in last week’s What’s New in Elk Grove email.
