With the pool of uncounted ballots fading, Hume maintains a slim lead over Moreno
In the closely contested race for Sacramento County Board of Supervisors District 5, Pat Hume maintained a slim lead over Jaclyn Moreno.
Tallies released this afternoon by Sacramento County Voter Registration and Elections showed Hume with a 372 lead over Moreno. Results released on Tuesday, November 22, had Hume leading by 344 votes.
Vote tallies released last week showed there were under 89,000 uncounted votes countywide. Today’s report shows there are less than 12,000 uncounted ballots countywide, indicating less than 3,000 uncounted ballots for District 5.
Undervotes in the race are about 10 percent which further indicates there are less than 2,700 ballots relating to this race. Mathematically, Moreno would need roughly 1,500 or 60 percent of the remaining votes to take the lead.
Neither Hume nor Moreno has issued statements of post on their campaigns’ social media accounts about today’s tally. The next tally will be released on Thursday, December 2.
