Even without organized opposition, EGUSD's Yes on N $542 million bond measure continues receiving donations

With just a few days until voting closes in the November 2024 presidential election, Elk Grove Unified School District's Yes on N Measure proponents continue raking in campaign contributions. The Yes on N committee seeks approval of a 30-year $542 million bond for new facilities and renovation projects.

Filings in the last week show the Yes on N received five more contributions totaling $10,500. The contributions are as follows:

  • Kaiser Foundation Health Plans - $5,000
  • Sacramento Building Trades Council  - $2,000
  • Hibser Yamauchi Architects, Inc. - $1,500
  • National Union of Healthcare Workers Issues Committees - $1,000
  • Republic Services - $1,000

Combined with earlier contributions, the Yes on N has collected $280,263. There is no organized campaign opposing Measure N.

As part of their campaign, Elk Grove Unified District voters received the mailers seen below and above. One campaign focus has been using endorsements from mostly Democratic elected officials, like California Assemblymember Stephanie Nguyen.

If approved, properties in the school district boundaries, which extend beyond Elk Grove city limits, will be taxed about $34 per $100,000 of assessed value. The bond needs to meet a 55 percent approval threshold for adoption.
